This year we mixed things up a bit and let our New Mexico Mountain Club membership decide which place would be featured on our annual limited-edition t-shirt.

The ballots are in, and with 33% of the vote, the winner is… the Sandia Mountains.

The Sandia Mountains aren’t just a beautiful backdrop for all those of us who live in Albuquerque, instead the range is a central part of our Club’s story. Since the founding of the NM Mountain Club in 1952, the Sandias have hosted countless hikes, scrambles, bushwhacks and climbing adventures, serving as a true home base to generations of our Membership.

We’re uniquely lucky to have this urban wilderness and such close access to forested lands at our back door!
