In Memory of Robert Dietz IV
April 26, 1941 — June 15, 2026
We are sad to announce the passing of longtime New Mexico Mountain Club member and past President (2012 - 2013) Robert Dietz, on June 15, 2026. We extend our condolences to his family and the friends he made through the Mountain Club and in the community.
We have been in touch with Robert’s family and there will be a celebration of life event sometime in the fall.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Robert Dietz. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert a few years ago when I traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico with my dad, Steve. We visited him at his home, shared a wonderful lunch, and went to Larry Hanley’s oldtimers party together. It was a true privilege to meet him. May his soul rest in peace.
